Physiotherapy by Webcam. I am still here to help you!

Webcam is a great way to continue or even start physiotherapy treatment. A lot of what I do as a paediatric physiotherapist is teaching parents how to perform exercises themselves. This is because often these need to be done daily to have positive outcomes and it is unrealistic for most people to have physiotherapy treatment scheduled every day. An online session is a good way for me to get an idea of what your child is doing or not doing or where they may be getting stuck with their developmental milestones. There are lots of great exercises and suggestions that can be performed safely by parents themselves. Some examples of conditions or issues where parents would be doing much of the hands on treatment include: torticollis, plagiocephaly (flat head), cerebral palsy, hypotonia, gross motor delay, club feet, in-toeing, "knock knees", and global developmental delay.

With the Covid 19 outbreak, we are now in unprecedented times and we will have to find a way to adapt and move forward. Top priority is that we all work together to stay safe and get through this.
